This Advent, we prepare for Jesus' birth. Advent is a uniquely joyous and hopeful season in the Church. We light candles amidst the darkness, finding warmth in this cold, dark winter season. And we come together as a community and family to celebrate the coming of our Savior. We begin a new liturgical year renewed by Jesus birth!Saint Thomas More and those close to our community offer several opportunities for prayer and renewal during the Advent season. GROUPS BEGIN WEEK OF NOVEMBER 18Registration is open for the annual Advent Ignatian Retreat in Daily Living, organized by the Ignatian Spirituality Center. Retreat booklets will be provided for the small groups (in-person and remote) led by trained facilitators that meet weekly.
NOVEMBER 23, 8:30 - 3 PM, SAINT IGNATIUS HALLPlease join the Ignatian Associates for an Advent Retreat with Sister Catherine Michaud, CSJ, PhD, as she leads us in exploring the mystery of Jesus’ birth.
DECEMBER 9, 12 PMWe will have Mass to celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This day recognizes Mary’s conception in her mother’s womb without the stain of Original Sin. Please see this decree from Archbishop Hebda, granting a dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on this typical holy day of obligation.
