The Sacrament is for those facing any serious illness. It can be given before surgery or by anyone in need of any physical or emotional healing. If you or a family member would like to receive Anointing of the Sick, please email Carol Arend or call the parish office.
We have Anointing Masses a couple times of year in the fall and in the spring.
Baptism is a sacrament of initiation into the Catholic community. As part of Baptism preparation, parents of infants participate in a class to reflect on their own faith journey and the meaning of Baptism for them and their child.
Choosing Godparents is an important decision that will impact your child's Christian life. Godparents are role models and representatives of the Catholic community. Some of the characteristics of Godparents are a willingness to share faith, to be committed to prayer, and to actively support you as parents. At least one Godparent must be a baptized, confirmed, practicing Catholic.

Confirmation is the third and final Sacrament of Initiation, which continues the process of full membership in the Church, begun at Baptism. It is important that each candidate makes the choice to participate in this process of learning and reflection of living a life of faith and service in the Church. Confirmation is sometimes called the Sacrament of the Holy Spirit; it strengthens and celebrates the presence of God’s Spirit in our lives. Preparation for Confirmation is for teenagers in the 10th grade and older.
To ensure your child is fully prepared to receive the sacrament of Confirmation, we ask that parents and teens make a commitment to the following expectations:
- All teens and their families must be registered members of Saint Thomas More Catholic Community and participate regularly in weekend worship.
- All teens must attend the scheduled sessions and complete service requirements
All teens must choose a Confirmation sponsor and write a letter requesting Confirmation - details will be provided. No letter is required to receive the sacrament. Sponsor needs to be 16 years of age, a practicing Catholic, and confirmed.

In the sacrament of Eucharist, we remember the action of Jesus at the Last Supper when he blessed and broke the bread and shared it with his disciples. We give thanks for Jesus' sacrifice and celebrate his ongoing presence with us. A child who wishes to prepare for First Eucharist must prepare for and complete First Reconciliation before beginning preparation for First Eucharist. The preparation process includes both activities at church and a program of home study.
To ensure your child is fully prepared to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist, all children and their families must be registered members of Saint Thomas More Catholic Community or have permission from their pastor. Children need to be in 2nd grade or older.

Reconciliation is the sacrament that celebrates the forgiving love of God. In the sacrament of Reconciliation we acknowledge and confess our sins and are reconciled to both God and one another. Preparation for First Reconciliation typically takes place during the fall for children in the second grade and older.
The preparation process includes both activities at church and a program of home study. As the bishops of the Second Vatican Council proclaimed, parents are "the first to pass on the faith to their children and to educate them in it," and they should receive "training, at once many sided and complete" if they are to be "fully effective." To support this, we provide a series of parent education sessions as well as large group parent and child learning experiences.
We offer the sacrament of Reconciliation every Saturday at 3:30 pm or by appointment.

In anticipation of the celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage, couples are offered marriage preparation and assistance in wedding planning. One of the parties (bride or groom) must be Catholic. One must also be a registered member of St. Thomas More or living within parish boundaries. Weddings are not celebrated during Lent, Advent, or during holiday weekends. Weddings and marriage preparation must be scheduled at least nine months in advance.
In addition to the requirements, there are expectations of couples preparing for marriage in the Church. Weekly attendance at Mass in your community and participation in the life of your parish is extremely important. It will strengthen your relationship as a couple and make the ground upon which your marriage begins stronger. We also encourage you to consider celebrating the sacrament of reconciliation during your preparation.
