Acolytes assist carrying out the ritual of Mass and other liturgical rites. These vested ministers are trained so that the ritual runs smoothly and efficiently. Open to grades 4 and older.

These ministers assist the clergy in distributing the Body and Blood of Christ at Mass. Eucharistic Ministers must be confirmed, fully initiated members of the Catholic Church.
LECTOR
Proclaim the Word of God
in the midst of the Assembly
Lectors proclaim the Word of God through Sacred Scripture. They read the first and second readings at Mass and lead the congregation in the Universal Prayer (Prayer of the Faithful.) A steady speaking voice and confidence in public speaking is helpful to this ministry. Open to those of Confirmation age and older.
LIVE-STREAM OPERATOR
Spread the Word of God to all
Help us reach those of our community to cannot be with us in person! Live-stream operators film our 10:30 am Mass and other services with our three-camera live-stream system. Full training is provided but a good head for technology is necessary. Open to high school age and older.
HOSPITALITY
See the face of God in all you meet
This ministry is the welcoming face of Saint Thomas More. They greet all those who arrive and engage parishioners and guests in brief conversation. Hospitality ministry should be attentive to any needs that arise from a parent dealing with a restless child to possible emergency help. They help coordinate the collection and gifts procession, hand out worship aids, and may even help with liturgical tasks like carrying the processional cross. Open to high school age and older.
SACRISTAN
Prepare the Church and its people
Sacristans coordinate the activity of preparing for Mass and other rituals. They make sure all volunteers are present, all items are in their proper place (vestments, books, chalices, etc), and answer any questions other volunteers may have. Open to high school age and older.
