Music Ministry
Music (especially song) is a core feature and expression of our humanity, and is vital to our liturgies. When experienced in worship, it offers us
repeated opportunity to engage in the “full, active & conscious
participation” to which the liturgical reforms of Vatican II call us. Music Ministry at Saint Thomas More acts as
servant to our liturgies – offering diversity in expression and experience for
the purpose of building up the Body of Christ.

CANTOR
Music is vital to our liturgy. The cantor leads the congregation in song, proclaims the Responsorial Psalm, and helps assure an active musical participation in sung prayer. Proficient musical reading and skills are necessary. Open to high school age and older.
To participate or for information, contact Kellen O'Grady (Director of Liturgy & Music) at kogrady@morecommunity.org
INSTRUMENTALIST (strings, woodwinds, and brass)
St. Thomas More has many instrumental musicians who enhance our liturgical music. Instrumentalists may play on their own with the accompanist or often play together with a larger ensemble. Adequate proficiency for hymns and other works on the instrument of choice is required. Open to middle school age through adult.
