Thank you so much for staying with us through this year of COVID—yes, it’s been a year! Throughout this time, we have continued to serve you through our in-person and virtual Masses, Ignatian retreats and faith formation opportunities, visiting the sick, holding funerals, baptisms, and weddings, and praying for our community. You have responded marvelously by staying connected, participating in our many offerings, and continuing to support us with your prayers, expressions of gratitude, and financial support. I am very grateful. Our parish is even growing in the midst of COVID! Many new families have joined our parish within the last year, and enrollment at our parish school is significantly up as well.
As we approach the end of our fiscal year, our Stewardship Committee has decided to launch a Year-End Stewardship Campaign throughout the month of June. Because we have a very good chance of meeting our stewardship budget for the year, we are not calling it a “Close the Gap” campaign as we have in years past.
Why, you might ask, are we doing a Year-End Stewardship Campaign if we anticipate meeting our budget? Good question. The reason is that even if we make our stewardship budget, we will still have an operating deficit. The good news is that our church and school revenues continue to increase, and our deficits continue to decrease. However, although we’re getting close, we are not quite at the point of running balanced budgets.
Our goal for this Year-End Stewardship Campaign is $75,000. I would be very grateful if you would make an extra year-end gift to us during the month of June if you are able. However, please remember that, as Fr. RJ and I often say at Mass, your participation and presence, whether physically or virtually, is truly your greatest gift to us.Thank you for considering this request. Gratefully yours in Christ,Fr. Warren Sazama, SJ, Pastor
