As our 2021-2022 fiscal year comes to an end, we would like to take this opportunity to express our immense gratitude and joy as we approach our next chapter at Saint Thomas More. We have great news to share with you this year: For the first time in several decades, we are projecting a balanced budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year (ending June 30)! This is a huge milestone for our parish, and it is your generosity and commitment that brought us here. We especially thank our parishioners who have supported us for years, allowing us to operate though lean times and make it to this point. It is important to pause and acknowledge this pivotal moment we are in. God has bestowed many blessings on us in recent years, and there is a feeling of momentum and progress in the parish. Parishioners are committed and engaged in parish life, and every week new families choose to make Saint Thomas More their spiritual home. Soon our capital campaign construction will be complete—which will dramatically transform our ability to do community, ministry, and formation. And at the end of the year Fr. Warren will retire after 6 transformational years, and Fr. RJ will become pastor. We are being given an opportunity to look ahead. We have spent much of the last year asking you where you’d like to see us grow and listening to what your desires for our future are. We have heard you and are eager to address the desires and hopes you’ve expressed. This is why our Stewardship Committee has decided to launch a special Year-End Stewardship Campaign. The goal of this campaign is to finish this chapter strong and allow us to better meet the needs of the community as we move into our next chapter. While we are projecting that we’ll meet our stewardship goal this year, our budget is still very lean and more revenue is needed to grow our staff and offerings to answer the desires of the parish and better serve the community. Additionally, for several decades we were not able to achieve a balanced budget and had to take money from our reserves to cover our deficits. We hope this campaign will help replenish some of our reserves, especially in light of the stock market which has been declining significantly. Our goal for this campaign is to raise $75,000 by June 30. We would be very grateful if you would make an extra year-end gift during the month of June if you are able. Thank you for considering this request and for your continued generosity. We are truly grateful for your presence and participation in this parish family. Lastly, we ask you to pray for our parish and for each of us as we enter our next chapters in life!Gratefully yours in Christ,Fr. Warren Sazama, SJ, Fr. RJ Fichtinger, SJPastor Associate Pastor
