A Light That Guides Us:
Saint Thomas More Master Plan 2024

Dear Saint Thomas More Catholic Community,

This spring, we embarked on a comprehensive facilities assessment and master planning process that at its conclusion will guide our parish—church and school—over the next decade. This process involves evaluating our current infrastructure, determining areas for improvement, prioritizing needs and desires, and producing a conceptual layout to guide future growth and development. Master planning is about making the connection between our facilities, our people, and the surrounding environment.

We are blessed that our parish is energized and experiencing growth after our highly successful Building the City of God Here and Now Capital Campaign. As stewards of this vibrant parish and historic campus, we must continue to care for our buildings and grounds and work to be a bright light in the community through our worship, fellowship, education, and outreach. It is now time to discern and consider what our facilities need in order to meet the needs of our growing community and its many ministries.

You will be invited to participate in a variety of engagement opportunities over the next few months. We need everyone to make their voices heard so that this plan truly embodies the spirit and vision of our Saint Thomas More Catholic Community. We look forward to learning from and engaging with you as we embark on A Light That Guides Us: Saint Thomas More Master Plan 2024.

Gratefully yours in Christ,
Fr. RJ Fichtinger, SJ
Pastor

Visioning Open Workshops:

As OPN Architects completed their assessment of our campus facilities, we entered the Visioning Phase of the Master Plan process. This Visioning Phase gave our parishioners the opportunity to share their hopes and priorities for the future of Saint Thomas More.

Our hope is that the Master Plan truly embodies the spirit and vision of our community. There will be more follow-up opportunities to provide additional feedback as the Master Plan is refined throughout the fall. Thank you in advance for your participation in this important moment in the life of our parish!

Visioning Workshops Parish Engagement Summary:

OPN Architects provided our community with a Parish Engagement Summary following September's Master Plan Visioning Sessions. This summary celebrates several themes that arose during the sessions and expresses hope for the future of our beloved community. The information collected will be utilized in the final 10-year Master Plan provided by OPN in the coming months. The complete master plan document will include an expanded summary of the visioning workshop’s findings. Thank you for sharing your voices during this process!

Ways to Get Involved:

In the coming weeks, we look forward to offering several ways for you, our community, to offer your input and participate in this master planning process. Please subscribe to our newsletter for the latest updates.
