Arline L. Datu is a Filipina Asian American and a native of Chicago. She received her education at Northwestern University with both a BSJ and MSJ from the Medill School of Journalism. She spent much of her professional career working in the private sector both in Chicago and in the Twin Cities in the communications field. Arline came to St. Paul in early 2001 and was joined by her husband and family later that year. She held positions at both the Saint Paul Companies in St. Paul and Nuclear Management Corporation in Hudson, Wis., as communications director. Arline has been involved in liturgy planning since the early 1980s. She developed a passion for social justice in St. Paul, and is an active member of STM’s Justice in Action team as well as a leader-organizer for ISAIAH. Arline has three adult children and one grandchild, all of whom live in St. Paul.
