UPDATE 10/15/2025:
A HUGE thank you to everyone who attended and volunteered at our Spaghetti Dinner this year!! The evening was a huge success, all thanks to you! Friendships were formed, stories were shared, and carbs were consumed–sounds like the perfect evening to us!
–According to ticket sales, we fed 373 people! A big jump from 318 people last year!
–Approximately 70 volunteers helped make the evening happen, and we are thankful for all of you!
–A special shoutout to our leadership team: Danielle Smith, Claire Buethe, Nelson Rhodus, Patti Rhodus, Christian Carbonara, Kathleen Stoddart, Kristie Tigges, Roberta Leal, Lindsey Bernardy, Jeff Davis, and Anzley Bieri. We couldn't have done it without you!
The Mass of The Holy Spirit beforehand was beautiful, full of blessings for our St. Thomas More Catholic School teachers and students and music by our school's children's choir, directed by Mr. Pollock. The choir is comprised of students grades 2-8 and they always bring such joy to our parish.
ZERO WASTE UPDATE
Could you host a dinner party for 373 of your closest friends and end the evening with virtually no trash? We can, and we did!
Thanks to great planning, the 2025 Spaghetti dinner resulted in:
–Food waste, napkins and drink cups composted (yes, those "plastic" cups are really compostable) beverage cans, ice bags, wine bottles, and cardboard packaging recycled
–Plates and utensils washed and stored for the next event
–About 2 gallons worth of actual trash disposed of correctly
This commitment to zero waste doesn't being and end with this dinner. Every donut Sunday uses compostable cups and napkins, along with "real" coffee cups. The school composts food waste every school day. Campus wide, there are recycling and organics bins available. Even the paper towels in the restrooms are compostable! We're committed to being zero waste, and appreciate you joining us to accomplish this goal!
Thank you waste station volunteers who ensured that everything was discarded of properly: Jeff Davis, Kathy Stoddard, Christian Carbonara, Patti Rhodus, Judy Plante, Henry Stenzel, Naomi Branson, and Adella Branson.
Join the Saint Thomas More community in kicking off fall at our Mass of the Holy Spirit & annual Spaghetti Dinner! The Mass of the Holy Spirit is a tradition among Jesuit academic institutions dating to 1548 in which the community gathers to thank God for the gifts of creation and salvation and to seek the guidance and wisdom of the Holy Spirit in the coming year. As the Jesuit Parish of the Twin Cities and only Jesuit grade school in Minnesota, we ask the Holy Spirit to imbue all of our endeavors of the upcoming year with the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The Spaghetti Dinner will immediately follow Mass in St. Ignatius Hall. Dinner tickets are $14 for adults and $8 for ages 5-12 (ages 4 and under get in free). Beer and wine will be available for purchase. We encourage you to purchase tickets in advance below so we know how many to expect. Gluten free noodles will be available upon request. Degidio's will be catering, so be sure not to miss this event!
Volunteer spots are now available! Many hands make light work and we'd love for you to join us.
