Season of Thanksgiving:
A Church Built by Generosity

NOVEMBER 1–30

Dear Saint Thomas More,

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, we enter a special time of reflection and gratitude: our Season of Thanksgiving. This year, I invite you to take part in a meaningful effort we’re calling “A Church Built by Generosity.”

At Saint Thomas More, everything we do, every prayer, every ministry, and every gathering, is built on gratitude, service, and community. We give thanks for our community in the midst of celebrating 100 years since the cornerstone of our sanctuary was laid, a foundation not just of stone and mortar but of faith, hope, and service. For a century, this church has stood in the heart of St. Paul as a spiritual home for generations seeking God, justice, and belonging.

In the past, our Commitment October campaign has helped us think about how we share our time, talent, and treasure. Now, we want this season to be about thankfulness, recognizing that everything we have is a gift from God, and that by sharing those gifts, we help build a stronger, more vibrant parish.

Why Built on Generosity?

Because our parish isn’t just a building or a set of programs. It’s a community that thrives on generosity.

Because when each of us gives what we can, God’s work continues to grow here and beyond.

Because our goal is about creating a home of faith where everyone belongs and every gift matters.

An Invitation

Saint Thomas More is not immune to the rising costs of doing ministry in the parish and school. Thus, this Season of Thanksgiving, I’m asking you to take a moment to pray and reflect on your giving. If you’re already supporting the parish, please consider increasing your contribution by 10% this year to help us keep up with rising costs and growing needs. If you haven’t yet made a regular gift, this is a wonderful time to start.|

Your generosity helps keep our parish strong and welcoming for generations to come. Your generosity equips our community to meet those on the margins, increase our immigration support, and assist those in our community in most need of God's grace. Your generosity keeps our buildings warm, our lights on, and allows us to pay our incredible staff a just and appropriate wage.

How to Take Part

Pray: Ask God how you’re being called to give.
Reflect: Think about what portion of your income you can offer in gratitude.
Respond: Visit our online giving page to share your intention for the year ahead.
