Church Exterior & Interior Repairs

As many parishioners have noticed, the ambo—the lectern from which the gospel is read—was not used the weekend of July 10. This change has been made due to concerns that the plaster or paint above this area has continued to deteriorate to a point where pieces could fall in unsafe sizes.

The underlying cause of this failure is currently being addressed through tuckpointing and roof repairs over the next few weeks. When the exterior work is complete, the plaster and paint will be restored. Before the work is restored, the area will be inspected and all loose material will be removed so we can begin using the ambo again as soon as possible. We expect this to take place in the next week or two.
