STM is part of InterFaith Builders, an inter-denominational coalition of 10 Twin Cities Faith Communities. We are once again collaborating with Interfaith Builders this summer for Habitat for Humanity. We have been together for over 20 years! There are 8 faith communities participating: Macalester Plymouth United Church of Christ, Gloria Dei Lutheran, Holy Spirit Catholic, Olivet Congregational, St. Anthony Park Lutheran, St. Paul United Church of Christ, Temple of Aaron, and Saint Thomas More.
This year's August project includes working on a new home on Beebe Road in Maplewood.
Participants must be 18 years of age. Youth over 16 may sign up with a sponsoring adult on site. Work days are 8:30-3:30 with lunch provided. All tools and training provided. No construction experience needed.
If interested in volunteering on this project, please contact Dick at dicklally@gmail.com or 651-497-7526.
The Twin Cities are in an affordable housing crisis with the triple threat of rising rents, flatlining wages, and extremely low vacancy rates. Habitat for Humanity works to bring affordable housing to Twin Cities families. They build, repair, and sell homes to families with an affordable mortgage while connecting them to the community through our neighborhood revitalization projects. Habitat homeownership contributes to healthier families, greater success in school, more economic opportunity for families, and revitalized neighborhoods.
