Meet our Pastoral Council: Karen Dudley
Meet our Pastoral Council: Karen Dudley
Hello Saint Thomas More Community,
My husband Bill and I joined the parish in March of 1975, shortly after we moved to St Paul from the Chicago area. We bought a house three short blocks from church. Both Bill and I were active in the parish. I was on the liturgy committee. We helped with sacramental preparations. We mentored Confirmation students; we worked with engaged couples for nearly 20 years. Bill was a lector and I was an Eucharistic minister. Bill was very active in softball. I was on the parish council and Bill was on the school board. Bill died of cancer in 2004.
I took a breather, but continued as an Eucharistic Minister and started to lector. In 2012 I rejoined the Worship Commission, and again joined the pastoral council. I became a lector in 2013. I was asked to serve an additional year on the pastoral council because I have a “historical” vision of the parish. This parish has been my home and family for 50 years. I’ve seen good times and not so good times. The strength of this parish lies in the participation of parishioners. I want to continue to contribute as I can.
Sincerely,
Karen Dudley
