Marking a Century at Saint Thomas More

A VISUAL TRIBUTE TO 100 YEARS OF SHARED FAITH

As Saint Thomas More Catholic Community marks 100 years in its sacred church building, a commemorative logo was created to visually honor a century of prayer, worship, and community life within this space. The centennial celebration invites parishioners, alumni, and neighbors to reflect on the enduring presence of the church as both a physical landmark and a spiritual home in St. Paul.

The anniversary logos were thoughtfully designed to balance reverence for the past with hope for the future. Drawing inspiration from the architecture, history, and faith-filled mission of Saint Thomas More, the mark serves as a unifying visual symbol throughout the centennial year. The elements within the number “0” are specifically inspired by the church’s rose window, a beloved and recognizable feature of the sacred space, symbolizing light, beauty, and the presence of God at the heart of the community. The logo design was led by Megan Junius of Eight Moon™, a Saint Thomas More parishioner and school parent, whose creative work and deep connection to the community helped shape this meaningful centennial expression.

Appearing across liturgical celebrations, communications, and events, the centennial logo helps connect generations who have gathered in this church over the last century. More than a graphic element, it is a joyful expression of gratitude for all who have built, sustained, and worshiped within these walls, and a celebration of the vibrant, faith-filled community that continues to bring this sacred space to life. As Saint Thomas More enters its next century, the logo invites all to rejoice in what has been and to look forward with hope to what is still to come.

The Rose Window

The design and structure of the Rose Window is the work of the architect John Comes. The artistic design and execution was done by Andreas Larson, a local artist. However, Comes often allowed the content of the windows to be determined by the client, as long as it met with Come’s standard for beauty and if it was in harmony with other art in the church. The Rose Window features the Holy Spirit located at the center of the window setting up the whole scene. The energy of the Holy Spirit radiates outward from the center in the form of twelve flower petals. Each petal features a saint whose life has been changed by The Spirit.
