Seeking Applicants: Facilities and Maintenance Staff Member (Part-Time)
AUGUST 16, 2024
DESCRIPTION:
Facilities and Maintenance Staff are responsible for the maintenance and custodial needs of the campus facilities. This includes regular cleaning and routine maintenance, set up and take down for campus events, and ensuring the safety and security of our campus.
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 3:30-9:00 pm
DUTIES:
Clean and upkeep campus buildings (church, parish center, and school)
Assist with the implementation of annual maintenance
Operate equipment to clean floors
Upkeep exterior spaces and lawn to ensure attractive appearance of campus
Removal of ice and snow from walkways, stairs, and parking lot
Setup and teardown of tables, chairs and equipment for before, during, and after campus functions
Ensure building is secure and all entrances are locked after events
Implement safety and security procedures
Notify supervisor and record details in the case of any incident or injury
Respond to alarms when needed
Must be proactive in bringing building maintenance issues to the Director of Facilities & Maintenance
Perform painting, light carpentry, and repairs as needed
Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Facilities & Maintenance, Director of Operations, Principal, and Pastor
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to work up to 30 hours per week and be on feet for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds, using proper techniques, along with the ability to use equipment necessary for the position. Must be able to use ladders, work in tight spaces, and withstand heat and cold.
Basic computer and email skills are required.
Maintains confidentiality regarding parish matters. Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the parish. Acts as a witness to Gospel values. Supports and adheres to the Code of Conduct and policies and procedures of the parish and Archdiocese.
Proven ability to work unsupervised and make decisions and solve problems independently, effectively, and creatively. Comfortable with ambiguity and ability to respond adeptly to rapidly changing priorities and ability to work well under pressure. Takes initiative; a team player and meets deadlines. Detail oriented and organized with the strong ability to successfully multitask as necessary or requested.
Ability to interact with a wide constituency of people and is able to work alongside others. Exhibits effective communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to professional ethics by honoring confidentiality, as well as acting with integrity and honesty at all times.
