Seeking Applicants: Weekend Events & Facilities Supervisor

DESCRIPTION:
The Events & Facilities Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that guests have a positive, hospitable experience when attending events or using the facilities of Saint Thomas More Catholic Community. The Events & Facilities Supervisor will be the on-site point of contact, working with both outside groups and internal ministries of Saint Thomas More. An important component of this role is ensuring the safety of guests and security of our facilities.
Highly competitive pay, dependent upon experience.
This is currently a part-time position, with the opportunity to grow to full-time if desired. Weekday evening hours are available if candidate desires more hours. Comprehensive training for all duties will be provided.
DUTIES:
Act as point of communication to guests and volunteers during events, available to assist with questions and problem solve
Collaborate with director of operations to ensure all event details are thoroughly prepared for
Collaborate with staff and volunteers to identify ways to improve hospitality
Assist with audio and visual equipment
Assist with operation of kitchen equipment
Prepare the space for guests, including setup & teardown when needed
Basic cleaning duties after events
Be proficient with and ensure that all standard operating policies and procedures are followed
Ensure that guests are adhering to parking lot regulations
Conduct periodic walking inspections of the building and parking lot to be certain unwanted visitors have not gained access to the building to prevent thefts or vandalism
Ensure that off-limits areas are locked and secured during events
Ensure that all entrances are locked after events
Familiarity with the mechanical operations and systems of the building
Intervene to reduce potential risks for injuries to visitors
Notify supervisor and record details in the case of any incident or injury
Serve as the emergency coordinator of the facility in case of a medical, weather, or other type of emergency
QUALIFICATIONS:
18 years of age or older
Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions, and to work independently on routine and regular assignments.
Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Possess good people and listening skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Comfortable operating power equipment such as autoscrubber, lawn mower, snow blower, and floor care equipment.
Strong work ethic.
Welcoming, outgoing personality that interacts well with a wide variety of people.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
Attention to detail.
Prior custodial experience preferred.
Successfully complete standard Archdiocese background checks and safe environment training.
Successfully complete pre-employment physical as required by employer.
