Seeking Applicants: Director of Communications
DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Communications will plan, organize, create, and implement effective communications messages and strategies for Saint Thomas More Catholic Catholic Community, supporting parish staff and ministries in advancing their objectives and engaging internal community members as well as the wider community.
DUTIES:
Execute all communication and marketing objectives of the parish (church and school), overseen by the Director of Operations
Ensure that all media and messaging are produced and delivered with consistent tone, look, and voice—reflective of the parish’s mission and brand
Unify and align communications across the parish
Work collaboratively with parish staff and leadership to develop and execute creative marketing and stewardship campaigns
Assist parish ministries in developing and executing communication plans to spread awareness of their objectives and mobilize their specific audiences to engage
Design digital media and print materials including web, email, social media, video, brochures, cards, flyers, posters, signage, etc.
Work with vendors to assure quality materials on budget
Maintain the church and school websites, including designing new pages and graphics for events and campaigns, ensuring that all information is always updated and accurate, while maintaining attractive, user-friendly experiences
Coordinate and design all parish email communications regarding upcoming church and school events and relevant news
Manage and maintain engaging social media presences for church and school, developing content for a number of platforms
Produce video content that promotes internal parish engagement as well as engagement from the wider community
Photograph parish events/activity and manage digital asset library
Work with livestream volunteer team to ensure a high-quality experience for those who participate in Liturgies and events from home
QUALIFICATIONS:
1+ years of experience in the communications or marketing field preferred
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field preferred
Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere, and Acrobat Pro
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience in copywriting and editing
Strong graphic design, photography, and videography skills
Proficiency with website management
Proficiency with social media content development for YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
