Baby Items Drive for Second Stork

JANUARY 1-31

This January, our parish will be collecting baby items for  Second Stork, a local pregnancy resource organization that provides families in need with essential newborn care items to give their baby a safe and healthy start.

There is a significant need for basic items like clothing, blankets, diapers, and wipes for many families who are financially stretched. Your donation of these essential items will be packaged and delivered to our hospital partners to be given to families who need them. 

Perhaps you, your family members, or friends wish to purchase and deliver these much-needed
items to the Second Stork warehouse. If so, please keep the following guidelines in mind: 

• All donated items should be new. Hospitals cannot distribute used, even gently used, items. Think of clothing and blankets sets as your gifts to new mothers in need. Because of their personal circumstance, these mothers might not be able to benefit from something as simple as a baby shower to help them prepare for their newborn.
• Only newborn sizes should be collected. Many infants will wear these items when they leave the
  hospital and in their first few weeks.

You may drop your items in the collection box in our new gathering space near the north side entrance beginning January 2!

Items Most Needed:

• Sleepers: one-piece cotton, footed sleepers that are worn indoors, day or night, in sizes preemie (P), newborn (NB), 0-3 months, or 3 months (3-6 months is too big)
• One-piece t-shirts: Gerber® Onesies® brand or similar bodysuit in preemie (P), newborn (NB), 0-3 months, or 3 months (3-6 months is too big)
• Receiving Blankets: light blankets in cotton or flannel only (we cannot accept fleece or knitted blankets, or quilts for safety reasons)
• Diapers: any brand disposable diapers in preemie or newborn sizes only
• Wipes: any brand baby wet wipes in unopened packs with plastic pop top lids or resealable soft packs (no refill packages)
  

Online Registries:

If you prefer to do your shopping online, go to Second Stork's gift registry on Amazon and simply place your order for delivery directly to Second Stork. The items we need most are shown in our online registries.
