Lent Friday Adoration, Reconciliation, & Stations

FRIDAYS IN LENT

As Catholics, we know Lent as a season of conversion. This energy is often spent thinking about what we should give up for Lent. The tradition of fasting and almsgiving during the season of Lent is rich and valuable. Let us remember, though, that it is prayer, fasting and almsgiving that are the standard for Lent. Perhaps we might ask, "How should I pray more during this coming Lenten Season?"

As a community, we acknowledge the divine presence in our church and in prayer. Why not spend some time in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament during Lent? On the first Friday of Lent, February 16, and each Friday of Lent thereafter, Saint Thomas More will provide Eucharistic Adoration in the church starting at 1:00 PM.

Fridays are always penitential days in the Catholic Church. The Fridays in Lent, even more so. Join us every Friday this Lent! Of course, anyone can come at any time during Adoration, but adorers are needed to fill all the time slots so that our Lord will be accompanied throughout the adoration period. Please sign up for an Adoration slot if you are able!

IN THE HANDS OF GOD

More than ever I find myself in the hands of God.
This is what I have wanted all my life from my youth.

But now their is a difference;
the initiative is entirely with God.

It is indeed a profound spiritual experience
to know and feel myself so totally in God's hands.
