Celebrating Women Mystics

NOVEMBER 11, 8:30 AM – 3 PM, SAINT THOMAS MORE

In the words of one author, “To rediscover the story of the Christian mystics is a great adventure.  Their manifold experiences and examples can be truly empowering for our own lives.  The Christian mystics speak to us across the centuries, and if we listen, we can learn something about the deepest experiences of their lives, so that we too may glimpse the glory of God and feel the healing touch of the Spirit.”

Many of the greatest mystics of the church have been women.  This retreat day offers an opportunity to consider and pray with the writings and reflections of some of these powerful women, including medieval mystics such as Hildegard of Bingen, and more recent mystics, such as Simone Weil. The day will include talks by the presenter, and time for individual reflection as well as sharing. A light lunch will be provided.

We will begin with Mass in the church at 8:30 am followed by the retreat in Saint Ignatius Hall. We hope you will join us for retreat—sign up below!
