FAITH FORMATION AT ST. THOMAS MORE

Our Faith Formation programs are called to help one another deepen and encounter our relationship with Jesus Christ. Through are programs we are called to be Jesus in the world today by our active presence in our families, neighborhood, parish and stranger we meet. We strive to use the daily examen in our personal, family and parish life.

The daily examen is a prayer reflection tool that’s helps our parishioners be aware of God’s presence in their daily coming and going. It is a five-step process: 1. Beware of God’s presence, 2. Review the day with gratitude, 3. Know your emotions, 4. Take one thing from the day and pray from it and 5. Look toward tomorrow.

The Daily Examen is a technique of prayerful reflection on the events of the day in order to detect God’s presence and discern his direction for us. The Examen is an ancient practice in the Church that can help us see God’s hand at work in our whole experience.

This is accomplished by having bible studies, book study groups, speakers on wide range of topics, hosting Ignatian Spiritual Exercises retreats during Advent, Lent, small group retreats and individual spiritual reflection.
