Praying with the Psalms: A Retreat in Daily Living (A Second Opportunity!)

Over 40 parishioners participated in our summer retreat in daily living, Praying with the Psalms, and found it an enriching experience. Since not everyone who was interested was able to attend, we have decided to offer the retreat again this fall!

The Book of Psalms in the Hebrew Scriptures is a collection of 150 songs, prayers, poems and hymns. It has been suggested that the psalms are the prayer book of the church. With vivid imagery, they express the full range of our emotions, and give us insights into God and ourselves. This at-home retreat encourages us to pray with the psalms in a way that makes them meaningful to us and that helps us deepen some of the graces of the Spiritual Exercises.

This retreat will include daily prayer and weekly small group meetings in person or online. Each day, you will meditate on a psalm using lectio divina and speak to God about what’s on your heart. During small group meetings, you will have the opportunity to share the fruits of your prayer.

This group will meet Tuesday mornings from 9-10:30 am via Zoom. (September 22, 29, October 6, 13, 20, and 27.)
