Book Discussion: Out of Many, One

Book Discussion – Out of Many, One

NOVEMBER 11, 7 PM, ST. IGNATIUS HALL

All are invited to join the Immigration Committee in a book discussion of "Out of Many, One" by George W. Bush. After our discussion on policy and history, we want to gain a better appreciation for the immigrants themselves. This collection of stories and oil paintings painted by George W. Bush spotlights the journeys of immigrants and highlights their contributions to the life and prosperity of our nation.

While we encourage you to read the book, available at bookstores and libraries, and to join us for our discussion, we believe the discussion will be interesting and valuable even if you haven’t had a chance to read all of the book, or start it. We will share how these stories touch us and what they ask of us to do as we try to see the humanity in everyone, as Pope Leo XIV is encouraging us to do.

In "Out of Many, One: Portraits of America’s Immigrants," a powerful new collection of oil paintings and stories, President George W. Bush spotlights the inspiring journeys of America’s immigrants and the contributions they make to the life and prosperity of our nation. Through 43 powerful four-color portraits — personally painted by the President himself — and their accompanying stories, Out of Many, One reminds us of the countless ways in which America has been strengthened by those who have come here in search of a better life. –Description taken from the George W. Bush Presidential Center website.

Refreshments will be served, so please register below.
