An Update from the Ignatian Spirituality Center

SEPTEMBER 25, 2024

Dear Saint Thomas More Catholic Community,

The Ignatian Spirituality Center has major news: We are moving from Saint Thomas More to the Iversen Center, home of Campus Ministry, at the University of St. Thomas. After the parish informed us that they were adding staff and needed our office, we were offered this opportunity this past summer and accepted the move as an invitation to extend our reach and develop our mission even more. As a center dedicated to valuing religious diversity, this new location will open new paths for expansion.

Our desire and intention to collaborate with Saint Thomas More remains as vital as ever.  The Ignatian Spirituality Center owes its existence to the dedication and work of many at Saint Thomas More who created and offered programs, retreats and formation in Ignatian Spirituality. The efforts of parish staff and members were the inspiration for the founding of the Ignatian Spirituality Center, whose mission is to grow the reach of Ignatian Spirituality through offering the Spiritual Exercises and other programs and practices inspired by St. Ignatius and support those already on the Ignatian path.

ISC will continue to hold events in Ignatius Hall at Saint Thomas More and partner with other Ignatian organizations for programs there. ISC continues administering Women’s Ignatian Retreats, Retreats in Daily Living, the Spiritual Exercises, and offering spiritual direction resources.

We deeply value our relationship with Saint Thomas More and offer abundant gratitude for the support and fostering we experienced as a fledgling organization. We look forward to a season of growth that will be a benefit to all as we make our way on this spiritual path given to us by St. Ignatius.

Patricia Sauer
Board Chair, ISC at STM
