A Note from Kellen O'Grady, our new Director of Liturgy and Music
AUGUST 18, 2021
Hello, St. Thomas More Parish! I am delighted to be a part of this community as Director of Liturgy and Music. I have been in music ministry since high school. I attended the University of St. Thomas and have spent the last six years serving at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Hastings. I live in Highland in St. Paul, and I can’t wait for the chance to bike to work. I look forward to meeting you and worshipping with you.
My transition into the parish will be a little different than normal. I was diagnosed with colon cancer this summer and will be undergoing surgery at the end of the month. The cancer was caught very early, and my prognosis is excellent. I am grateful to all the staff and community members of St. Thomas More who are facilitating all the details through my surgery and recovery. All the pieces of this transition are falling into place, and I cannot help but be grateful for God’s guiding hand for both me and our parish community.
I plan to take some time with St. Ignatius’ Spiritual Exercises while I am recuperating. Please pray for me. I will be praying for you.
Kellen O’Grady
