Resurrecting IHM Stained Glass Window
March 26, 2024
Dear Parishioners,
Saint Thomas More Catholic Community was formed in 2008 by merging the parishes of St. Luke and the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM). The combined parish consolidated in our current location. Although the merger offered many opportunities for growth and to strengthen our ability to serve God and God’s people, it also came at a significant loss to many of the IHM parishioners.
Recognizing that, we are thrilled to announce that we have been able to restore and repurpose the stained glass window that hung over the baptismal font at the entrance to the former IHM sanctuary. Our pastor at the time, Fr. Joseph Weiss, SJ, had the foresight to encourage us to pack the window away until the right time and place emerged. The STM Sacred Arts Committee has been wrestling with finding the right location, and we think we have. It is now installed in the east bay of windows in the new Gathering Space. Let your Hosannas and Alleluias ring out as we celebrate the return of this beautiful window to our worship environment.
