Learning to Pray - Book Series

BEGINS JANUARY 4, 7 PM, PARISH LIBRARY

Join us for a 4-part series on prayer, guided by Fr. James Martin SJ's book, Learning to Pray: A Guide for Everyone. We will meet every Tuesday in January in our parish center to explore the questions "What is prayer?" and "What does it mean to have a friendship with God?" The discussions will be led by facilitators, Mary Fratto and Tim Meath.

Please read (or listen to) chapters 1-6 for our first discussion on January 4. We have hardcover books available for $20 in our parish center that you may pick up during office hours.

To join us for this series, please register below.

About the book

Learning to Pray explains what prayer is, what to expect from praying, how to do it, and how it can transform us when we make it a regular practice in our lives. Fr. James Martin, SJ is one of America’s most beloved spiritual leaders and wrote the New York Times bestselling book, The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything. In this book, Martin lays out the different styles and traditions of prayer throughout Christian history and invites us to experiment and discover which works best to feed our soul and build intimacy with our Creator. Prayer, he teaches us, is open and accessible to anyone willing to open their heart.
