Meet our Pastoral Council: Cameron Smith



Hello Saint Thomas More Community,

My name is Cameron Smith, and I am honored to serve on the St. Thomas More Parish Pastoral Council. I am the chief legal officer of an engineering and architectural firm located in the Twin Cities. My wife, Danielle, is a research scientist at the University of Minnesota, and we have three children who attend STM: Daniel (11), Cecilia (9), and Ada (7).

Our family began our journey to St. Thomas More in 2021 through the school. We were impressed by Principal Lofton’s incorporation of Jesuit values and sound pedagogy, as well as the enthusiastic and genuinely loving welcome our children received.

Danielle and I volunteer at STM in a number of roles. In addition to serving on the Pastoral Council, I also sing in the choir and coach the school’s swim team. Danielle serves on the hospitality committee and volunteers where needed around the school – this past year, she coordinated the group of parent volunteers helping to keep kids in the right place during the school musical.

St. Thomas More almost immediately felt like home for us. As a member of the Pastoral Council, I plan to contribute to that welcoming environment with an emphasis on our excellent school and on opportunities for parishioners of all ages to participate. My hope is that we all have a place here at STM to grow in faith with the support of a community that cares.
