Braver Angels is an organization uniting red and blue Americans in a working alliance to depolarize America.

 

SKILLS WORKSHOP

There's a lot of stress these days among family members and friends who are divided politically, and the current polarized public conversation doesn't help. Yet we are called to love those we disagree with. Please join us for this Braver Angels Workshop: Skills for Bridging the Divide. This workshop will teach necessary skills for having respectful conversations that clarify differences, search for common ground, and affirm the importance of the relationship.

The workshop will begin with a presentation, then participants will have an opportunity to practice listening and speaking skills. Participants will be paired and given the opportunity to practice with someone of the same political persuasion—red or blue. “Reds” lean conservative and tend to vote Republican. “Blues” lean liberal and tend to vote Democratic. If you fall somewhere in the middle, you can choose a side for purposes of practicing the skills. Members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church will be joining us for this workshop. Anyone who is interested in learning how to have better conversations with people on the other side of the political aisle is welcome to participate!
