The retreats are conference style, with several thirty minute conferences each day. The silent time between the conferences should be used for prayer and reflection on the material presented. The leader will be available during these times for short, individual conferences. This is a silent retreat because it is in the silence that we come to know ourselves and our God. When we are silent we are able to get beyond the noise, the distractions, and the facades of everyday life. In the solitude we come to grips with ourselves and with our God. God spoke to Elijah not in the storm, nor the earthquake, nor in the fire, but rather in the quiet whisper which could only be heard in silence.
