Chuck Lenz began organ study at the age of 12. In 1978 he began his professional career as Director of Worship, Music and Organist at Church of St. Leo in Highland Park, a position he held for 36 years. During that time he accompanied, then eventually directed an Adult Choir, started a Funeral Choir, Handbell Choir and Teen Schola. In the early 80’s, he was instrumental in the design and installation of a 56 rank Schantz Pipe Organ. In 2012 Augsburg Fortress published a collection of his organ improvisations. He has also performed with Allegro Sinfonia Orchestra, the Macalester Festival Chorale and World Voices. In addition to his full time job, he had many organ and piano students.
He studied organ with Diana Lee Lucker, Stephen Gabrielson, John Egan, Arthur Poister, Earl Barr, Ruth Dindorf and Sr. Lucia Schwickerath.At present, Chuck is the organist at Holy Spirit Catholic Church whose Music Program is under the able direction of Katie Mendenhall.
Christopher Stroh, B.A. Mus, M.A. Mus. has served as Principal Organist at The Basilica of Saint Mary in downtown Minneapolis since September 2006.Prior to his Basilica appointment, Christopher served as Organ Scholar at the Cathedral of Saint Paul, Saint Paul, Minnesota, from 2005 to 2006, with Music Directors/Organists James and Marilyn Biery.Christopher completed degrees in organ performance and sacred music at Saint John's University and Graduate School of Theology and Seminary, Collegeville, Minnesota, as a student of Dr. Kim Kasling. Additional instructors include James Biery, Marilyn Biery, David Jenkins, Don Saliers, Leo Nestor, and Joanne Pearson.Christopher has performed in recital throughout the Midwestern United States, in France and Belgium with The Basilica Cathedral Choir, and has been aired multiple times on American Public Media’s Pipedreams. He maintains active membership with several professional organizations including the Conference of Roman Catholic Cathedral Musicians (CRCCM), the American Guild of Organists (AGO), and the National Association of Pastoral Musicians (NPM). Michelle Plombon, Principal Organist at Saint Thomas More Catholic Community, Graduated from the College of St. Benedict with a BA in liturgical music and St. John’s University with an MA in liturgical music. Joe Haus’ interest in music began when he saw the Beatles perform on the Ed Sullivan show, Sunday night Feb. 9, 1964 . A few years later guitar lessons began at Traficante’s Music store in Midway Center learning the popular songs of the day. In college he studied classical guitar. He has played weddings on two continents and accompanied a love struck soprano as she sang out side the window of her beloved. Joe has also played on a boat in the middle of a lake. Twice. But never a canoe. Joining up with STM flutist Kay Miller he has played at weddings, funerals, art gallery openings and at MIA. Currently he is president of the Minnesota Guitar Society. Joe has been playing guitar at Saint Thomas More since some time in the last century.
