Tuition & Financial Aid

Cost of Education

The total cost of educating a child at St. Thomas More exceeds $6,400.  We are able to keep the cost of education lower than this through the generosity of our parish and development initiatives.  Our parish covers all indirect costs associated with running our school, including capital improvements, building maintenance, utililites, and insurance.

Our development initiatives also help to offset the total cost of educating each child. These initiatives include the fall festival, the annual fund, the wine tasting event, and the auction event.  Not only do these events directly benefit our students, they engage parents and students as they build the Saint Thomas More community.

2012-2013 Tuition Rates

In-Parish tuition for Grades K-8:

  • $4,554 per child

Out-of-Parish tuition for Grades K-8:

  • $5,817 per child

Tuition may be paid on an annual, semi-annual, trimester or monthly basis.  If tuition is paid on a monthly basis, payments are due by the 5th of each month.

For questions regarding tuition, please contact the school business office at 651-224-4836, ext. 304.

Financial Aid

Saint Thomas More School has a financial aid program available to all families that qualify.  Funds available for financial assistance come directly from the school operating budget.  The specific amount of available funds is determined each year when the school budget is in preparation for the following school year.

In an effort to be objective, confidential and allow maximum opportunity for all families that apply, the school contracts with a professional financial aid company, Tuition Aid Data Services (TADS).  Applicants are required to fill out a TADS application online at www.tuitionaid.com.  The deadline to apply is April 15 of each year.

After TADS reviews each application, they forward their results to the school.  The school then determines aid amounts based on TADS results and funds available in the school budget.  Notification of aid awards come from the school in late May of each year.

The administration of the financial aid program is a confidential process which involves only the school principal and the school business administrator. In some cases, the Canonical Administrator may also be consulted.
