Media Literacy

The Library Media Center (LMC) is the heart of our school, dedicated to supporting the school's curriculum and to encouraging leisure reading.  The collection includes over 20,000 continually updated resources.  The LMC is managed by our licensed library media specialist, with the help of volunteers.  The goal is for students to become information literate, lifelong learners and readers.

Our library media specialist works with teachers to integrate library curriculum with subject areas. All students have weekly scheduled classes, during which they develop information literacy skills and literature appreciation and check out materials.  Students may also use the library before and after school to do research, browse, check out books, and read.
