Patron Saint

Saint Thomas MoreSaint Thomas More (England, 1478 – 1535) was a statesman and humanist dedicated to human dignity.  Serving in numerous capacities, including Speaker of the House of Commons, More forged a reputation as an honest and effective public servant.  More raised six children, four of his own and two adopted.  At a time when education was the privilege of men, More put as much effort into educating his five daughters as he did his only son.  More was a proficient author and scholar, known for his study of the Bible, Latin translations, and the coining of the term “utopia,” which became the title of his most famous book.

In the spirit of our namesake, the school of Saint Thomas More promotes the dignity and self-worth of all children, instilling in them a strong commitment of service to the world around them.
